Filippo Forti holds a master’s degree cum laude in management engineering from the University of Rome La Sapienza. He started his professional career in Advicorp Plc (London, UK) where he supported the capital markets team in high yield bond trading and the corporate finance team in restructuring deals. He moved to Ernst & Young (Rome) in the role of assistant consultant to drive the organizational restructuring of Poste Italiane SpA (Italian postal service). Then he joined the Italian branch of Nomura International Plc (Milan) where he supported the M&A department in a sell-side deal involving the Italian target Buongiorno SpA (€ 209m). Hired by the Italian distribution operator Enel Distribuzione (Rome) in 2011, he served for 6 years in the administration finance and control department. Starting from the energy margin control within e-Distribuzione he moved to Latin America to join Chilectra (the distribution operator in Santiago de Chile) and then to global infrastructure and networks division being responsible for business development and project valuation. In this role, he had the chance to coordinate the capital allocation process for 8 different countries across Central and East Europe and Latin America (yearly CAPEX: € 5bn). Moreover, he focused on special project valuation (ex. Italy and Latin America Smart Meter projects: >€ 1bn), as well as M&A buy-side deals (ex. CELG: $ 0.64m, Eletropaulo: $ 1.8bn). In 2017, he joined the innovation and sustainability department where he was responsible for planning and control activities, innovation intelligence tools and global coordination of the Enel group energy storage community. Starting from January 2020, he is part of Enel Foundation in the role of senior researcher, driving the sustainable finance practice with special focus on financial valuation. He is responsible for Enel Foundation planning and control. Since November 2020 he is lecturer on sustainable finance @University of Rome Tor Vergata, @University of Milan Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and @24ORE Business School Executive MBA. Actively involved in night shelter charitable activities of Circolo S. Pietro, he dives the sea 32meters deep on a single breath. Passionate sportsman, short story writer and tireless reader he currently lives in Rome with his wife Charlotte and his dog Pera.
